An act of Congress incorporated the Marine Corps League in 1937 for the purpose of providing support for Veterans and their families, community service projects and local humanitarian services.
The Upper Darby Detachment was established in 1994. Since our inception we have done much to support our community. The League holds annual holiday toy drives, conducts park cleanups and a multitude of other community projects. A flag retirement service has recently been put into place and we have retired over 15,000 flags. The League’s Color Guard participates in various ceremonies throughout the year in Delaware County.
The organization runs on the hard work of volunteers. They give their time freely to support the community values for which we, members of the Marine Corps League, stand.
